Sonic 2 has always been one of my favorite sonic games, and my favorite thing about it (as an aspiring game dev) is its development
obviously with such a peak game, we basically know everything that was cut in this game
so, as your guide, im gonna ramble on about Sonic 2's development
but before we start, thanks to The Cutting Room Floor, Hidden Palace, and a few YouTube videos ill mention later for the info!
Tails/Miles
so to start this off, imma talk about Tails
so as you know, tails in Sonic SATAM and AoStH is kinda brown
this is because DiC was only given one color reference for tails' design from sega
this one
which i decided to try and recreate to the best of my ability, using the palettes for sonic in Sonic 1 and in the Nick Arcade prototype
someone in the Sonic 2 ReTold server said that i might've done the color correction wrong, so i looked back and made a second version of my recreation that might be more accurate
imo i like the design of tails that the final game went with
Time Travel
originally sonic 2 was going to have time travel, but not like sonic cd
instead of gameplay based time travel, its story based
there were probably gonna be 5 time zones planned

- Ruined Present
- Flooded Ancient
- Future
